Our awning fabrics are sold with a 12 year warranty.
It's the perfect choice: By default, we offer awning blinds sold and selected with care, designed
specifically for outdoor use, and guaranteed for 12 years.
They will protect you from the sun, heat, light, and UV... and you will keep your accommodation
cool for years to come.
These awnings are just as capable of withstanding years of exposure to the weather: (rain, wind,
pollution, dirt, etc.)
They receive a special treatment that makes them waterproof, resistant to the fungi responsible
for the molds inherent in the accumulation of vegetation waste from yards, and to soiling.
100% acrylic, they are made from a mass-dyed thread, a guarantee of colour fastness in the
sun.
Our awning fabrics are suitable for use in an awning or chest, but can also be suitable for use in
pergola, shade sail, stretched tarpaulin, or any other outdoor product...
Finally, as proof of the quality of these fabrics, we offer a 12-year warranty from the day of
delivery.
The S&P Sélection® collection
At Stores & Pergolas®, we have been handling awning fabrics since 1986. Suffice to say that we
know a lot about the subject of sun protection.
We manufacture several thousand each year, and we are fully aware of the duty to advise and the
responsibility we have towards you.
So, we want to continue to offer you products that represent the best possible choice to stay
cool.
To reach this ambitious objective, we have decided to bring together the fabrics that have the
best technical characteristics and the best performance on the market.
We have grouped them in a collection called S&P Sélection®
We believe this collection is the best possible choice for your patio. This is the one we have by
default.
Over 2000 references available for delivery.
Of course, we also offer other collections for delivery: DICKSON®, SATTLER, SAULEDA, LATIM®, GIOVANARDI®, SUNWORKER®, SOLTIS® etc...
Textiles, PVC, tarpaulin... This represents a total of more than 2,000 products. That is to say,
much more than it takes to get lost.
However, we recommend that you choose yours from the S&P Selection® collection that we offer by
default. With 225 references divided into 96 solid colours, 15 classic stripes, and 111 fancy
stripes, you should find the design you are looking for your terrace at the best price sold on the
internet.
Orange, pink, red, white, blue... the range sold is so wide that one can legitimately ask about
the colour of the canvas.
Is it an awning, a window blind? Be aware that the colour of the fabric will affect the amount and
colour of light transmitted under the blind or inside the housing.
Always prefer a dark shade fabric. These fabrics are more efficient thermally, so they better
protect you from the heat.
The darker it is, the fresher it is.
In addition, dark fabrics are more visually pleasing. They eliminate excess light and
reverberation and make it so that you never need dark sunglasses when under the shade of your
awning.
Did you know? A dark textile is more effective in terms of protection against heat than another
lighter product. On first thought, people tend to believe the opposite. It is, however, true. Look
to convince yourself with this example on two canvases from the same manufacturer, sold on our site,
from the same collection, having the same weight per square metre, the same manufacturer. All that
sets them apart is their colour, which we have chosen to be very contrasting.
Example:
S&P Sélection® fabric reference 0030 black colour:
Solar transmission = 0.00 Thermal comfort: High.
S&P Sélection® fabric reference 0026 white colour: Solar transmission = 26.40 Thermal comfort:
Medium. So much less fresh!
This means that the lightest colour fabric lets in almost 30% of the heat, where the black fabric
stops it completely.
In addition, the white canvas lets in 30% more light. Amazing, isn't it? Bring sunglasses. (Not
sold on this site!)
Remember this simple thing: In terms of colours, choose a dark shade for your terrace.
In addition, know that the trend of fabrics sold for several years, is uniform.
"I live in a condominium: The colour reference is mandatory..."
In most co-ownerships, the choice of colour is fixed in the co-ownership regulations or by
decision of the general assembly. Ask the Syndic, who will provide you with the canvas references,
as part of the co-ownership regulations.
Blinds in a condominium
Then give us this reference, we will make your custom canvas in this precise colour.
If the property manager gives you the choice, as long as it is consistent with the building, we
recommend that you make your choice from the S&P Selection® collection that we offer by default.
With 225 references sold, distributed in 93 solid colours, classic stripes, and fancy stripes, you
will find the canvas you are looking for.

If the model is no longer sold, it may be an old canvas, decades old. The collections are
constantly evolving, references are deleted, others appear. Even entire collections of fabrics are
disappearing: The Dickson® Orchestra collection, for example, has disappeared in favour of the new
collection: Dickson® Solar Fabrics.
Call us to find out. If this model is no longer sold, it will be imperative to choose another. If
you live in a condominium, you are certainly not the first to have encountered this problem. The
trustee will guide you, and certainly suggest that you stay within the strict framework of the basic
shade, for a question of consistency with the fabrics in place.
There are often equivalences from one collection of paintings to another. We can certainly find
you a canvas if not similar for your delivery, at least approximating.
It's always better to know what is sold; see and touch a canvas before deciding.
The colours are sometimes very close. It is sometimes difficult to see on the screen of a
computer, or worse, that of a smartphone.
Is there a difference in touch between a normal Dickson orchestra canvas and the same Max version
canvas?
To make your life easier and to help you make your decision, we suggest you order your samples
directly online. They are sold on our site.
The delivery is made directly to your home within ten days, and you can easily stop your choice of
canvas.
Sending samples is not free, but you can buy as many as necessary and decide in this context, the right colour.
A collection of 225 premium quality awning fabrics, made from 100% dyed acrylic yarn. So many
models specially designed and sold for outdoor use on blinds; awning fabrics treated anti-soiling,
antifungal and waterproof to more than 300mm. water column.
There is also a very wide choice of trendy or more classic colours, solid colours, stripes, and
texture and material effects, stitched, mottled, flamed, or tweed.
It is worth pointing out that all these models are a perfect choice and are sold immediately
available and in stock. (Except temporary break).
The heat (or coolness) felt under a shade fabric is measured precisely. For each S&P Selection
collection reference, we give you "Thermal comfort."
The scale has three levels: Low Medium, High.
Textiles with "High" thermal comfort are cooler in summer.
Some thicker textiles are sold as fresher.
You will find, in particular, in the Dickson collection with weights greater than 300g.
Our opinion: Effectiveness is not proven. They are sold much more expensive. In the context of a
blind test, there is nothing to establish which the freshest textile is.
We offer you a structured and reassuring framework for ordering:
1- Request a quote online. It's free.
Enter the dimensions of your awning and click on the "CALCULATE YOUR PRICE" button. This is the
price you will pay, excluding delivery costs. You will only have to add the delivery costs (£14) to
get the overall price. At certain times of the year, we organise promotions on the delivery price,
which is then offered. Transport is then free.
2- Choose a colour
Choose a shade you like from our S&P Selection® collection offered by default.
This presents 222 shades, 73 of which are solid. You should find the canvas you like.
Otherwise, broaden your search to other collections, we have them all: Dickson, Sattler, Sauleda,
etc.
reference in the S&P Selection® collection that we offer by default
3- Place your order online
Rest assured, it is often until delivery, the aspect of things that most concerns our
customers.
Rest assured, we are here to help you see clearly.
We need to know how the canvas is attached at the top and bottom on the frame of the frame.
Up on the winding tube, and down on the load bar.
We talk about high fixation and low fixation. Indeed, the mechanism is normally sloping, with a
high side, and a low side.
The high fixing
The fabric is attached to the winding tube. (the tube which turns on itself and rolls up the
fabric.)
Different systems exist:
The textile can be glued, screwed, stapled, clipped or fixed with a rod.
Open your awning wide and unroll it entirely. Climb a stepladder and watch what you see.
Different systems exist.
We are there at all times, even after delivery of your order to assist you. How do you measure the
width of your awning fabric? "
Case N ° 1: You still have the old canvas
If you still have your old canvas, measure it.
These are the exact measurements we need to make an identical canvas for your awning.
The measures to be communicated to us are those of the old canvas.
The total width of your awning is also called overall width. This is the width of the entire
canvas once made, from one end to the other.
1. Take a metal tape measure. We do not recommend the use of a seamstress tape measure, because
they tend to deform and give incorrect measurements.
2. Extend your awning completely.
3. Place the measuring tape directly on the canvas of the awning. Measure the width of the awning
fabric from one arrow to the other. (View the photo).
Case N ° 2: You no longer have the old canvas.
What to do if you have run out of the old store’s canvas?
Over time, the old canvas has disappeared, or you preferred to get rid of it. All you have left is
the awning frame. (The framework)
If you do not have or no longer have your old canvas, you simply have two steps to take:
The "WIDTH" corresponds exactly to the dimension of the load bar. (It is the aluminium or steel
tube which goes up and down). Measure from arrow to arrow: (See photo).
If your awning is placed on the ground, which is the case when they are dismantled, it is even
easier.
"ADVANCED" corresponds to the length of the arms of the blind + 30cm. for winding. So, remember to
add these 30cm, because we will not do it for you.
Notes:
1. It is easier to measure the width of your awning as a pair rather than alone.
2. Be specific: Slightly stretch the shade fabric. It should not fold. Take the dimension several
times to avoid errors.
3. You will notice that the fabric is smaller than the roller tube of the blind itself. This is
normal and allows the awning fabric to roll up on the tube without creases or friction. A gap of
about 3 to 4cm on each side is normal.
The height of the awning fabric is also called "advanced" or "deployment". But it means the exact
same thing.
Total height is an "overall" measure. It corresponds to the dimensions of the whole and made-up
awning fabric.
How to measure progress awning fabric?
Case 1: You still have the old canvas.
1- Take a metal tape measure. We do not recommend the use of a seamstress tape measure, because
they tend to deform and give incorrect measurements.
2- Extend your awning completely
3- Put the tape measure directly on the canvas. Measure the height of the awning fabric, from one
arrow to the other. (View the photo).
4- Attention: Take care to add 30cm. at the value obtained to take into account the necessary
winding of the awning fabric, on the winding tube
Case N ° 2: You no longer have the old canvas.
Over time, the old canvas has disappeared, or you preferred to get rid of it. All you have left is
the awning frame. (The framework.)
- the value of "ADVANCED" corresponds to the length of the arms of the blind + 30cm. for winding.
So, remember to add these 30cm, because we will not do it for you.
Measure an arm between the two red arrows (see photo). Multiply the value obtained by two (the arm
is folded in half) and add 30cm. at the value obtained to take account of the winding on the
tube.
Notes:
1. The measurement of the height of the awning fabric does not need to be accurate to the nearest
centimetre. Indeed, taking into account the winding of the awning fabric on the winding tube, there
is enough clearance and length of awning fabric, so that your awning deploys fully)
2. If you forget to add 30cm to the height measurement of the awning fabric, you run the risk,
when your awning is open, of seeing the metal of the winding tube. It is not very aesthetic. So plan
longer.
Note that the diametre of most of the winding tubes used today is 78mm. This corresponds to a
diametre of 78 x ft (3.14) = 25cm. So plan a little wider, 30cm, and everything will be perfect.
This additional turn of awning fabric will very advantageously hide the unsightly galvanised steel
(or aluminium) tube without it.
3. The blinds traditionally have a multiple projection of 0.5m. Measuring the height of the fabric
of your awning, excluding the 30cm of winding, should, therefore, give a figure value of 200cm or
250cm or 300cm or 350cm or 400. Other measurements are less common.
4. Caution: If your awning is of the awning or semi-safe awning type, an excess of awning fabric
can be detrimental to its good winding on the tube. The fabric of the canvas can indeed rub on the
inside of the trunk.
5. Pay attention to the grammage of the awning fabric on the one hand, which must comply with the
manufacturer's recommendations, and not to add too much canvas on the other. (30cm is, therefore, a
maximum). If you do not know the recommendations of the manufacturer of the awning, take the same
type of awning as the one you are replacing.
Again, this is very easy.
You may encounter two scenarios, depending on whether you are still in possession of the
lambrequin or not.
1st case: You still have the lambrequin.
Measure the width of your lambrequin
Observe it carefully. What is its shape? (Right, wavy, slots) You will need this information to
place your order.
Measure it carefully in width and height.
2nd case: you don't have it anymore ...
The width of the lambrequin is the same as that of the load bar. Measure it carefully.
For the height, you have the choice: Know that the standard height is 25cm. But you have plenty of
time to choose another dimension. Bigger or smaller.
The very presence of a lambrequin on the frame of your awning is perfectly optional. A 25cm tall
lambrequin presents the best balance in terms of proportions.
If you are not sure which shape to choose, know that the trend is for straight-shaped lambrequins.
All other shapes, ripples, waves, crenels etc. are perfectly out of date.
Yes, it is perfectly possible to change your awning fabric yourself. It's about as simple as
changing a light bulb or installing a picture frame.
If you are a handyman, it will be a formality. You can do it alone, but it will be easier if you
get help. In fact, a shade fabric is often large, which makes it less easy to handle. With two or
more, it all becomes so much simpler.
Videos to help you
As you have never done, we support you in this installation. Watch our videos for a good overview
of how to do this.
Do not hesitate to contact us by phone on 09 70 70 77 57 every day, even on weekends, from 8h to
20h. It's free.
An appointment with a technician on the phone
Appointment: You can even make an appointment with a technician who will guide you step by step
for your installation.
Know that we are at your side at all times for your re-lining. Finally, remember that thousands of
people have done it before you. You should make it happen!
Save money
Replace your sun protection fabric yourself and make substantial savings. For the same product

product; a minimum of £800 excl.
So stop at the expense, roll up your sleeves, we are by your side.
Control your time
It is in your best interest to replace your tarpaulin yourself because you thus control your time.
You decide the day and time of the installation. You are not dependent on a craftsman who is likely
to set an appointment for you on Greek calendars.
Note that between your order and delivery, only ten days pass.

window, Italian, straight, garden, aluminium awning... we will make your canvas bespoke sun
protection, identical to the one you had.
We have already sold and rewired steel blinds over 100 years old!
And you are right: You must keep the frame of your awning, since it is in good condition, and
simply replace the canvas. This is also sustainable development. Lower cost and fresh!
Toiles Dickson®
Dickson® fabrics
DICKSON® awning fabrics are made in France by the company DICKSON CONSTANT®, with careful care.
They are designed specifically for use in external blinds.
The Dickson ™ brand is undoubtedly the one that enjoys the highest notoriety throughout the
country.
A DICKSON® awning fabric is sold with a 10-year warranty.
This makes it possible to attest to its very high degree of quality and performance. It is sold to
support the winding perfectly thanks to its mechanical properties. (In particular, tensile and tear
strength.)
Thus, a modern acrylic canvas will perfectly support being strongly stretched on its frame. There
is no fear of tearing.
DICKSON® fabrics are 100% acrylic. They are made from a mass-dyed acrylic thread. It is a
guarantee of colour stability over time. UV rays are stopped. Modern fabrics like those offered by
Dickson® do not fear fading.
Dickson® awning fabrics receive an antifungal coating, and an anti-fouling and water-repellent
treatment.
The Dickson® company also manufactures upholstery textiles, which are gathered in another range
which is not on sale on this site and not available for delivery.
The opinion of the pro.
Choosing a Dickson ™ canvas is the assurance of choosing a quality canvas, guaranteed for 10
years. From design to manufacture, DICKSON uses centuries-old know-how to produce fabrics that are
benchmarks for many installers.

Sattler AG
Sattler AG is a renowned Austrian company that manufactures yarn and outdoor fabrics. They are
made in Austria with careful care and are designed specifically for use in "outdoor".
Satisfy the 5-year warranties.
They are also 100% acrylic and are made from an acrylic yarn, dyed in the mass. It is a guarantee
of colour stability over time.
They also receive an anti-fungal, anti-fouling and water-repellent coating.
The opinion of the pro.
The manufacturers are unanimous in saying that these are the best fabrics for outdoor use. The
difference lies in the selection of the acrylic thread used: The tolerance is only one defect for 17
kilometres of thread. The attention paid to weaving is impeccable, rigorous selection of threads,
and innovation, make the difference with other manufacturers.
The Sattler company is characterised both by a high demand in the quality of production, and an
extraordinary capacity for innovation.
In our opinion, supported by technical evidence, the ultimate in sun protection is found in the
REFLECT range, where the fabrics contain aluminium particles. They are also waterproof with 1000mm.
the Schmerber water column test. The thermal comfort is incomparable. Indeed, a good part of the
solar radiation is reflected, which makes it possible to limit what is called the "solar
factor".
The main disadvantage of Sattler fabrics is their really higher price, and strangely enough, a
shorter warranty period than our flagship S&P Selection® collection.

SATTLER REFLECT
Giovanardi Tessile
GIOVANARDI® brand fabrics are made in Italy.
Giovanardi® fabrics are made in Italy and are sold specifically for use in canvas for awnings.
They are guaranteed for 8 years, which attests to the quality of their manufacture.
They are 100% acrylic. They are made from an acrylic yarn dyed in the mass. It is a guarantee of
colour stability over time.
They receive an antifungal, anti-fouling and water-repellent coating.
The opinion of the pro.
We meet the brand GIOVANARDI especially in the south of France,
for historical and proximity reasons.
Many condominiums have been equipped with GIOVANARDI since their construction and thus renew their
tarpaulins very logically identical. With this exception, choose a French manufacturer like Dickson®
much better distributed and represented.
GIOVARNADI - IRISUN
Sauleda
SAULEDA fabrics are made in Spain.
They are sold specifically for use in outdoor awnings.
They are guaranteed for 5 years.
They are also 100% acrylic and made from a dyed acrylic yarn. Like most modern competitors, they
receive an anti-fungal, anti-fouling and water-repellent coating.
The opinion of the pro.
SAULEDA is a credible alternative to DICKSON for the terrace. Often cheaper, the quality is real
and the choice of colours too. Even manufactured in Spain, the performances are quite comparable if
not superior to other market players.
SAULEDA MASACRYL
SAULEDA SOLRAIN
SAULEDA Top-FR
Latim® S.A.
Latim S.A. is a French family business that manufactures, among other things, acrylic fabrics for
awnings.
You may be looking for the LATIM brand for your awning. This certainly means that your
accommodation is part of a condominium, and you must replace your awning tarp identically
(custom-made).
Call us at 09-70-70-77-57, and we will certainly find the reference you are looking for.
The opinion of the pro.
Latim is a smaller company that is struggling to provide a choice as qualitative and extensive as
the other main market players. Nor can it promote a business-like Dickson.
With nearly 200 references, the range of plains is incredible and resembles its Ral colour chart
with its precision. But references are expensive and not always available.
So if you hesitate, or if you have the choice, choose the S&P Sélection® collection, guaranteed
for 12 years, sold and available in stock all year round.
LATIM
Soltis® by Serge FERRARI®
Soltis® textiles are produced and marketed by the company Serge Ferrari. These are not directly
awning tarpaulins because their design is radically different. On the other hand, it is perfectly
conceivable to mount technical textiles of the Soltis® or Sunworker® type on a banner and a fortiori
in a trunk.
They offer excellent thermal protection, even if they are usually reserved for use in a pergola,
arbour or shade sail.
The process for manufacturing technical textiles of the 'soltis®' type is fundamentally different.
It is, in particular, the PVC coating on both sides which distinguishes it from acrylic textiles and
which explains why it is sold at a much higher price, with equal performance.
The opinion of the pro.
Those who have already seen a tarpaulin made with such a technical textile will not be put off by
the price and will take the step.
The others will stick to acrylic tarpaulins at unbeatable value for money.
The technical fabrics, thinner, are ideal for a roll-up chest or lambrequin. They occupy rolled
up, less space in the aluminium tube. Think about it if you want to rewind your motorhome
awning.

This is a question that we are often asked. With us, no phoney sales, or fake promotions, and no
hidden extra costs either. We have only one philosophy: to be the cheapest on the web.
To achieve this ambitious goal, we are increasing our volumes, which allows us to lower our
production costs. There, it's as simple as that. So don't wait for the sales, the shattering
discounts, or the rowdy "sold free in three installments at no cost", there won't be any.
From order to delivery and even after, our customers are unanimous in telling us that the service
and the framework of the relationship have been very professional.
You do not have to believe us but know that our customer reviews are managed by an independent
company and that the process of collecting customer reviews is certified by Afnor®. This should help
reassure you.

Compliant delivery time. Good realisation. The dimensions were respected
Very detailed, attractive and educational site. With a little attention, it is ultimately easy to
order without the big risk of making a mistake or forgetting something important, even for a
customer who is very little versed in this technique. At the start I had a little apprehension about
not being able to do it alone, but the order is perfectly guided. After delivery and installation,
we say that it was ultimately not that difficult to manage on my own.

Fast delivery, quality at the rendezvous and impeccable service. I highly recommend this company.

Too little communication with the client. Too amateurish, not professional enough. However, good
quality of the delivered product (awning fabric). Dimensions respected. By cons, the accessories
(rods) were not those ordered, but we got out. In the end, with more communication (order accepted,
validated, in the course of manufacture, delivery expected on, parcel dispatched) we will feel more
at ease. Do not hesitate to call them to reassure yourself.

Very good telephone reception. very good advice. Quick delivery. I have recommended to friends
Some problems for delivery, the order having been lost or not taken into account. Two telephone
reminders were necessary to finally be taken into account So delivered at the end of the summer,
(order made on 05/30/2015) which bothered us somewhat, the sun this summer having been very present
and the blind being intended for our 93 year old Mum. However, no discount has been granted to us
for this delay beyond our control (but still a bottle of champagne). Other than that, the product
matches demand. It remains to be seen over time the good performance of the whole. cordially
Hello, At first I was skeptical "site on the net..." but after having been able to take information
and receive help by phone, I was reassured. I ordered, the time and delivery impeccable. Also
surprise the quality of the canvas. I have already proposed your company "without a bottle of
Champagne", your product and service have greatly satisfied me. CK
Product meets my needs, faster delivery than expected. No complaints
Very commercial and very nice, everything went well until the floods they experienced and the lack
of communication that followed on delivery delays, etc. Their website is very poorly designed and
requires incessant return trips that make even the slightest accessory order complicated. But for
their prices, their kindness and their reactivity when you manage to reach them, I recommend
them.
Delivery time respected, impeccable product quality, no surprises, I recommend
A very good site, very clear and precise. Very competitive prices and fast delivery. Really very

Preamble:
Replacing the tarpaulin is an easy operation. It requires only a few tools.
It is easier to carry out replacement operations in pairs.
This is especially true for tarpaulins that are slid into a groove. (Low or high finish by rod).
One person will have to pull the canvas through the throat, while the other will guide the canvas
through the throat.
Your main ally in carrying out these operations is neither technique nor tools, but patience.
There are several ways to do this. 25 years of experience in the service of the awning fabric, led
us to select a set of practices for various reasons. It is these proven techniques that we deliver
to you here.
Disassembly of the old tarpaulin.
Note that with rare exceptions, it is not useful to detach the frame of the awning frame from the wall to replace the cover.
Disassembly on the load bar side
Close-up on the grooves of a load bar
Reminder: The load bar is the tube that goes up and down.
Start by observing the way the tarpaulin is attached to the load bar. You may have to deal with a
sheath, staples, a throat or clips.
The canvas fitted with a rod is inserted into the groove of the load bar
Clips: Unroll your awning completely, so that the cover is released. To remove the clips, slide a
flat screwdriver between it and the fabric, being careful not to damage it.
Then lever to blow up the metal ring.
The strapping of the blind arms
Sheath: The tarpaulin is made with a kind of large hem through which passes the metal tube, which
acts as a load bar.
This big hem is called a sheath.
Unroll your awning completely, so that the cover is released.
You will have to disassemble the "hands" to be able to release the sheath.
Throat: If the tarpaulin is inserted in a throat, you will have to slide it laterally to get it
out of this throat.
First, remove the two "side shields" on the sides which obstruct the unsightly holes in the load
bar of the awning.
This done, you may discover a screw driven into the throat. Its function is to prevent the
tarpaulin from withdrawing under the effect of mechanical stresses from the wind.
I have to remove them by unscrewing them, so the plastic pegs that received them.
Open your blind 50cm. only.
Lock the arms in this position, tying them with straps, sleeves or rope.
Attention at this stage, the arms accumulate in this position a considerable potential energy.
They are equipped with powerful springs which serve to tension the tarpaulin.
In the event of an untimely release of an arm, you risk being unbalanced, injured or knocked
out.
Take multiple precautions when strapping your arms.
Unroll the cover completely. (1)
(1) If your electric awning stops before the cover is fully rolled out, it has reached its low
limit setting. You must enter programming mode to be able to override this limit switch setting.
Consult the instructions for the motor and / or the remote control.
If you no longer have it, do a search on the internet.
If you are lost, send us a photo by free MMS at 07 52 38 55 12.
When the cover is completely unrolled, you will see the tube of galvanised steel winding
appear.
Disassembly on the winding tube side
Staples: Remove the staples one by one by pulling them with pliers.
Store them and keep them carefully.
If you lose them, if you break them, or if you miss them, you can order them on our site in the
accessories store.
Half-moon clips
Clips: If the tarpaulin is fixed by clips (a kind of galvanised steel rings) which surround the
winding tube by pinching the textile, then remove them.
To remove the clips, slide a flat screwdriver between it and the fabric, being careful not to
damage it.
Then lever to blow up the metal ring.

Canvas fitted with rods inserted in
the groove of the winding tube
Throat: If the tarpaulin is inserted in a throat, you will have to slide it laterally to get it
out of this throat.
Often one side is easier than the other.
Look at the two ends. Choosing the right side will seem obvious to you.
It can happen, if your awning is equipped with an "awning", that this masks the sides and prevents
seeing the winding tube.
If this is your case, disassemble both sides to be able to access the grooves laterally.
Bonding: The fabric may also be bonded directly to the winding tube. If it is, try to peel it off
by pulling on it. If you can't, cut it down with a knife. The extra thickness is of no importance
for the winding of the future awning fabric.
Disassembly of the awning fabric itself
Now just drag the canvas to the side you have chosen for the extraction, pulling it vigorously.
Pull simultaneously on the awning fabric on the side of the load bar and on the winding tube
side.
If you are alone, pull alternately on the winding tube side, then on the load bar side.
Disassembly of the lambrequin
If your awning is equipped with a lambrequin, you must remove it in the same way as above.
Installation of the new awning fabric
Preliminary operations
Take care before unpacking the new canvas, positioning the old one on the ground. This will
protect the new canvas from the inevitable soiling that assembly will not fail to cause.
Take a moment to clean the frame of your external awning, and in particular the grooves if it is
equipped with one. Use a very diluted "Ajax" type detergent, with a stopper in a bucket (10l) filled
with very hot water.
Wash your hands well, put on work gloves with PVC-coated interior.
Note that the finishing seams, the hems of the awning fabric must be positioned downwards.
Unpack the awning fabric completely and fold it over its width. It will thus be easier to engage
it laterally in the awning.
Reverse the disassembly to install the new awning fabric. If you have to slide the new awning
fabric into grooves, taking care to lubricate them with a Teflon spray sold in DIY stores, as these
are the best option. This non-greasy product will not leave any marks on the awning fabric.
After engaging the shade fabric, slide it through the groove. Proceed 20cm by 20cm no more.
Warning. Too much brutality can lead to heartbreak.
A person guides the awning fabric in the throat, taking care to present it parallel to the opening
of the throat, without it forming a fold or elbow.
The other person will very gradually pull the canvas of the awning, which will gradually come to
lodge in the throat.
If you cannot do this, check that the diametre of the rod is not too large compared to that of the
throat. If so, give us a call. When you're done, it's a safe bet that the fabric of your awning
fabric is crumpled. This is perfectly normal and results from the manipulations. The canvas is
primed with coatings, is quite rigid. These folds will disappear as soon as the fabric of the awning
fabric is under tension and takes the humidity of the morning. Do not hesitate to leave it open
overnight, taking care to check that there will be no wind or bad weather. In the morning, the
fabric of your awning fabric should have regained all of its tension and aesthetics.
Do not forget to reassemble the new lambrequin.
Put new dowels in the grooves of the load bar if your awning is equipped with it. Then gently
screw in stainless steel or electro-galvanised screws so as to block the fabric of the awning
fabric, not without first replacing the side cheeks.
You can now think of undoing the straps that hold the arms in the semi-folded position. Roll up
your awning beforehand to regain the tension of the fabric, then undo the straps while remaining
very wary and taking care to free your head from the foreseeable trajectory of the arms or the load
bar. Never undo the straps until the new awning fabric is stretched over the frame of the awning
frame.
The packaging
The question of packaging is often asked. "Are the awning sold rolled or folded?"
Generally, they are delivered folded like blankets. They take up less space and can easily be
transported in the trunk of your car.
Conversely, a rolled canvas requires special clothing, because it cannot be routed in express
transport networks.
They are therefore larger vehicles of 19 tonnes and more, which take care of them. Is this really
justified? Think in terms of sustainable development.
If, however, for special reasons, you wish to receive it wound, contact us.
